never laugh at live triceratops!

usually these dinosaurs are shown in the movies as rather peaceful creatures, usually arriving in the nick of time to save the day when a large theropod is menacing the heroes or whatever.

however, in One Million Years, BC (1966), Tumak and Luana run into the three horned beast first, and it's obviously cranky, so it immediately proceeds to give chase to our good looking cave couple.

and this is one huge monster barreling down on our heroes.  since it was shown eating scrub brush, one can only wonder what would have happened if he caught them.

and just look at the background, the Canary Islands have a great prehistoric look.  one might actually believe there still were dinosaurs wandering about the place.  it was apparently a lot colder than it looked, so these actors suffered for their art!

of course, Luana and Tumak run smack into a ceratosaurus, which has to make them question their luck!  as it turns out, the triceratops is a rather bellicose rescuer, and does actually save the day, if a bit reluctantly.

just one more of the great set pieces to this wonderful movie, the best dinosaur movie ever made.
