I remember when Kmart showed up in my town. we used to have to travel to Boulder to visit the store. might as well have been on another planet when you are young. I think it was opened about 1973 or so, if I remember correctly. it had such a large variety of toys it was an immediate hit with us kids.
I bought many Mego dolls there, and several 8mm monster movies. plus all my 8mm film for my own movie epics. oddly enough, I think it was cheaper to develop them at King Soopers. weird.
