SUPER INFRAMAN (1975) Trailer

here's the original Mandarin trailer for SUPER INFRAMAN. I'm kind of surprised it doesn't have subtitles, but it's pretty straightforward. in fact, so much so that you get nearly the entire movie in under four minutes. this seems to be pretty standard for HK movies. I wonder if there was ever an "international" trailer in English for this movie. I know several were made. heck, I wonder if there was a different English dub made for this one as well.

I posted the US trailer here, with a small amount of controversy. it's fun to compare both trailers.

As has been suggested elsewhere, I suspect this is a version of the trailer with no text. I imagine the one with the titles would have subtitles of some kind. Possibly English and Chinese.

I have spent a lot of time pondering how INFRAMAN got released outside of the United States. I mean, we KNOW there is an English version of the original opening titles thanks to the German release. However, based on the fact that no alternate English track has ever surfaced, I am leaning toward the Fernandez one being the only English dub. We know the Shaws sometimes used different dubbers (see MIGHTY PEKING MAN), and the fact that Image found some loophole to use that dub without Joseph Brenner's involvement makes me think Shaw Bros. were involved in some capacity in its creation. That wouldn't mean that anyone involved in creating the American version would even necessarily be aware of partial Hong Kong funding.

Having said that, I would be delighted to be proven wrong and discover there is a "But still!" version of INFRAMAN in circulation.

I've wondered too if there's an HK international dub of INFRA-MAN. If there was, I'm sure it contained lots of swear words. Joseph Brenner might have found that unacceptable for a kiddie film and had it re-dubbed.

Of course, I have no proof of that, but I think it makes sense anyway.
