pretty much all out action in here.  Cap finally battles the Red Guardian   Red eventually starts having the mutual respect thing for Cap, and we can tell where this is going to end up.  the Widow comes through and tries to destroy the Psychotron, but gets shot for her troubles.  so does Red, who takes the shot meant for Cap.  it all comes down to an explosion, and then our heroes leave.  Natasha is taken to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

like I said, it's a big battle issue.  later on there was another Red Guardian, a woman, but I don't know if she ever met the Avengers in here.  think she was a Champion for a while.

next issue... but wait!  there's a King Size Special taking place first!  "The Monstrous Master Plan of the Mandarin!"

to be followed by:

"Blitzkrieg in Central Park!"

The lady Red Guardian was a Defender; it was Black Widow (*and* Darkstar!) who were with the Champions. Not sure what was up with Marvel and Russian super heroines in the 1970s.

that was it. my main exposure to the Champions was in Godzilla #3, and Darkstar wasn't in that story, lol.
