This is a great little song. Wouldn't it have been cool if the B-52s, circa 1980, had covered it? Would have been right up their alley, too. This was the one of the first Japanese cartoons I ever remember seeing, mostly because of the pendant.
Since Marine Boy has been released on MOD home DVD, could the Prince be far behind? That would be really cool if so. At least most of the episodes are available on Hulu to watch now.

It's a shame YouTube doesn't have those episodes anymore, I downloaded at least a few of 'em for reference.
There are some subtitled Popi episodes out there as well. I've linked one on here somewhere. The first episode has him being shot by an amnesia ray so he won't be tempted to return to Crifton before the year is up.
Thinking about MGM owning this, it would've been kinda neat had it been sub-licensed to the same group who out put a DVD of this cartoon recently..
