Yes, I know it was really yesterday the Beatles appeared on US TV for the first time, but of course I'm a day off. I decided to go with how I found out about the Beatles, which was through this great movie called "The Yellow Submarine". It was on late night TV, up against "Escape from the Planet of the Apes" and after switching between the two of them for a while the Beatles beat the apes.
Looking back, I made the right call. I like the apes movies, but I love the Beatles and I love this movie. In 1983 I actually left school early to go down to Boulder and see an afternoon showing of the movie, which is really cool. Beatles on the big screen! So here's the trailer!

Sometime in the late 80's I would eventually see Yellow Submarine courtesy of a local PBS station that aired it one afternoon. I do recall after the film was over, they played this quickie to fill whatever time was leftover.

It's fitting, since both cartoon and movie shared the same voice actors!
That's true, though I think it was only Lance Percival who voiced in both the TV show and movie himself (though oddly for different characters I noticed, he was Paul and Ringo in the show but played Young/Old Fred in the movie), Paul Frees did two of the guys in the TV show but someone else did those voices in the film.
