Battle of the Humongunauts

The first 13 episodes of "Mystery, Inc" are all I have to watch, and I'm finished with them.  It's a very enjoyable series, probably the best Scooby series that has ever been produced.  Granted, that's not too difficult to accomplish, since most of the Scooby series have been crap.  I think I may have mentioned that before, here and there.  I watched a lot of them out of habit, since it didn't matter the name of the series, they were almost ALL Scooby clones.  Now, I will make an exception for Josie and the Pussycats, but I may also be a bit biased.

I am a bit put off by all the cheats- none of the mysteries really have anything to do with true monsters or magic.  The science and technology used to make these suits are also pretty advanced, but it's cartoon logic.

This episode I'm showing pictures from here though, is a direct homage to War of the Gargantuas (1966).  It's pretty obvious when the episode starts with the song "Feel in my Heart" (more commonly known as "Stuck in my Throat"- thanks Devo!) and two "giant" creatures appear.

I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series, but I'm not sure I want to buy the DVDs.  Are they on Netflix?

Only the first season is on Netflix, but you can buy both seasons on the iTunes Store.

Do you get Boomerang? In June they're adding a bunch of newer shows to their schedule, including Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated daily at 8:00am and 8:30am (with repeats at 11pm and 11:30pm).

The second season gets more supernatural than the first. And I agree it's the best incarnation of Scooby Doo ever made. I'm just sorry that its ratings didn't merit a third season.

I just double-checked and I was slightly off: only the first season is on Netflix Streaming, but the entire series is available on Netflix DVDs.

And people are telling me the series was designed from the start to only last 52 episodes over two seasons. I didn't think this was the case because the second season was basically burned off by Cartoon Network by showing them daily in two halves.
