Europa & The Pirate Twins (1981)

I remember seeing this for the first time on Channel 12's FM-TV, before it became "Teletunes" due to some copyright and/or trademark issues. FM-TV was so low budget back then, many times the tapes would jam while playing and the picture would freeze. It was amazing to see these "new wave" videos and they played such a wide variety of music back.

Looking at this video now one might thing Thomas Dolby was trying to be "steampunk" but this predates that whole scene. It's s cool video and a bittersweet song. It's cool to think a late night video show on a secondary PBS station would show so much great non-mainstream stuff at the time.

That's what it was for. I miss the Public Television that would give a show like "Alive from Off Center" the time of night as well.

I agree. I knew informercials would be a bad thing the first time I saw one.

It certainly ruined late night television.
