HOTW- Batwoman (Kathy Kane)

From Wiki- In the original Pre-Crisis continuity, Kathy Kane, a wealthy Gotham City heiress and former circus performer, decides to use her skills and resources to become a costumed crime-fighter. This is partly out of altruism and partly to attract the romantic attentions of Batman. During the Silver Age of Comics, Batwoman guest-starred occasionally in Batman stories published from 1956 to 1964. While Batman wished for Kane to retire from crimefighting due to the danger, she remained his ally, even when she temporarily became a new version of Catwoman. In 1961, Batwoman was joined by her niece Betty Kane, alias Bat-Girl.[8] Kathy and Betty were romantically interested in Batman and Robin, respectively. Robin seemed to return Bat-Girl's affection, while Batman remained aloof.  back to me!

Princess Yurian

From Ultraman Wiki- The princess of Nebula M78, Yullian never engaged in any type of combat until a tribe of mercenary-style aliens known as Alien Galagala and their leader King Galtan kidnapped her and planned to kill Ultraman 80. Yullian managed to escape to Earth where 80 was assigned to defend at the time. As UGM went to scout out the disturbance, they found the Galagala, who wanted Yullian as she was disguised as a human named Ryoko Hoshi. After 80, under the guise of Takeshi Yamoto, defeated the tribe, they killed UGM's only female member Emi Jono, causing UGM great rage. After 80 defeated the Galagala and their leader Galtan, Ryoko joined UGM. The Female Warrior of Ultra For a time there was no need for her to take action until the Minus Energy of the Earth created the monsters Plazma and Minazma. 80 was being beaten by the dual monsters Plazma and Minazma until Ryoko showed her true form.  With her help, 80 was able to defeat the two monsters. 80's Greatest Peril! Transform! Lady Ultraman Both Ultras would soon return to their home world, after UGM defeated Margodon, ending the age of negativity and the Earth would be safe from monsters for twenty five years. Captain America 1944 serial

From Wiki- The serial sees Captain America, really District Attorney Grant Gardner, trying to thwart the plans of the Scarab, really museum curator Dr. Cyrus Maldor—especially regarding his attempts to acquire the "Dynamic Vibrator" and "Electronic Firebolt", devices that could be used as super-weapons.[2]  In a rare plot element for Republic, the secret identity of the villain is known to the audience from the beginning, if not to the characters in the serial. The studio's usual approach was the use of a mystery villain who was unmasked as one of the other supporting characters only in the final chapter. Back to me:

Mr. Magoo from 1949 has done it again

From Wiki- J. Quincy Magoo, better known as Mr. Magoo, is a fictional cartoon character created at the UPA animation studio in 1949. Voiced by Jim Backus, Mr. Magoo is an elderly, wealthy, short-statured retiree who gets into a series of comical situations as a result of his extreme near-sightedness, compounded by his stubborn refusal to admit the problem. However, through uncanny streaks of luck, the situation always seems to work itself out for him, leaving him no worse than before. Bystanders consequently tend to think that he is a lunatic, rather than just being near-sighted. In later cartoons, he is also an actor, and generally a competent one, except for his visual impairment.  Back to me:

HOTW- Super Bwoing

From Wiki- Super Bwoing: Noted for his rather unremarkable physique, extreme clumsiness, and his winged red helmet, echoing the helmet worn by the Greco-Roman deity Mercury. His preferred mode of transportation is to fly through the air on his guitar (the "Super Bwoinger"), using the strings like reins on a horse. His primary superpower is the ability to emit a super "laser beam" from his eyes, although he has superhuman strength as well. Due to his being an apprentice hero, in addition to being the clumsiest of the Super Service heroes, he seems to only get jobs if the others were busy or on holidays; in essence, he is the last choice and, in any case, better than nothing. Despite his bumbling, however, he almost always manages to catch his villains. His voice is a caricature of Jimmy Stewart's.  Now more from me:

Dracula 1931 remarks

Sven aired this last night, and since I did a review about two years ago I thought I would offer some new thoughts about it.  I was really impressed with how menacing Bela made the Count.  I know the movie itself so well, having seen it for literally five decades of my life.  I never thought it was very scary, but watching a movie on a Sunday afternoon can have that effect.  The movie moves quickly, though it is rather stagey, since it was based on the play.  The actors are quite good, but kind of static, for the most part, though I love Renfield these days.  He is hilarious and sad.  It is hard to believe how much movie they could pack into 70 minutes back then.  The sets were great as well, all those cobwebs in the castle, and just the whole look of the movie.

Triceratops tattoo

This is my most recent tattoo.  I got it on Thursday, October 12, 2023.  It was done by Sage (picked in part because Emerald's middle name is Sage) at the then ID Underground Tattoo in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  She did a great job.  At first we had talked about a skull, but I am very pleased with this.  The colors are great and it fits in well with the other two tattoos there.  The Triceratops horridus is the state dinosaur of Wyoming, so thought that was very fitting.  I kind of want to get state dinosaur/fossils from every state I visit now.  That probably won't happen, since many states have neither, or their fossils are fish.  So those won't have a place on me, I'll tell you what.

The Mark of Zorro (1940)

From Wiki-  Don Diego Vega is urgently called home by his father. To all outward appearances, he is the foppish son of a wealthy ranchero, the former alcalde Don Alejandro Vega, having returned to Alta California after his military education in Spain.  Don Diego is horrified at the way the common people are now mistreated by the corrupt new alcalde, Luis Quintero. Don Diego quickly adopts the guise of El Zorro ("The Fox"), a masked outlaw dressed entirely in black, who becomes the defender of the common people and a champion for justice against the uncaring Quintero and his garrison of brutish soldiers.  Back to me again:

HOTW- The Invisible Woman

From Wiki- Sue Storm received her powers by being exposed to a cosmic storm, and was known as Invisible Woman. She possesses two powers: invisibility and force fields. Her invisibility power deals with bending light waves and allows her to render herself and other objects invisible. She can also project powerful fields of invisible psionic, hyperspace-based energy that she uses for a variety of offensive and defensive effects, including shields, blasts, explosions, and levitation. Sue plays a central role in the lives of her hot-headed younger brother Johnny Storm, her brilliant husband Reed Richards, her close friend Ben Grimm, and her children (Franklin and Valeria).  Back to me now:

Captain America II: Death Too Soon (1979)

From Wiki- Steve Rogers (Reb Brown) is first shown sketching a portrait of a Mrs. Shaw (Susan French), who complains to him about a gang of muggers who have been stealing the proceeds from cashed Social Security checks; she denies having cashed hers. He bids her to do this in order to set a trap for the muggers and springs the trap as Captain America.  In the meantime, a free-lance revolutionary terrorist calling himself General Miguel (Christopher Lee), planning to fight an unspecified war, kidnaps a Professor Ian Ilson (Christopher Cary) and forces him to resume his research in manipulative gerontology. Ilson has managed to formulate both a chemical that accelerates aging and the antidote to the same chemical, and Miguel, posing as the warden of a prison in Oregon near Portland, plans to use the chemicals in question to hold Portland hostage for a multimillion-dollar ransom.  Back to me-

CBS Saturday morning 1967

What a lineup!  And this was just on CBS!  Both ABC and NBC had a slew of super shows as well.  Had I been more than two years old, these Saturday mornings would have been both heaven and hell to me.  Too many choices to choose from, though I am pretty sure I would have at least went with Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four.  But dang, a time like this wouldn't happen again for almost 30 years.  Busybody "concerned" groups- "think of the children!"

HOTW- Ultra Seven

From Wiki- In the not-too-distant future, Earth finds itself constantly under attack from extraterrestrial threats. To combat them, the Terrestrial Defense Force establishes the Ultra Garrison, a team of six elite members who utilize high-tech vehicles and weaponry. Joining their fight is the mysterious Dan Moroboshi who is secretly an alien from the Land of Light in Nebula M-78 and transforms into his true alien form, Ultraseven, in times of crisis.  Ultraseven (ウルトラセブン, Urutora Sebun) is a Japanese tokusatsu science fiction television series created by Eiji Tsuburaya. It is the third installment in the Ultra Series and was produced by Tsuburaya Productions. The series aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System from October 1, 1967 to September 8, 1968. Me again:

Sven- Angry Red Planet (1959)

From the Wiki entry- Mission control personnel on Earth monitor the rocketship MR-1 ("Mars Rocket 1") as it approaches Earth orbit following the first crewed expedition to Mars. Personnel are surprised to see the ship on their monitors, for they believed that the vehicle had become lost or destroyed in space. Ground technicians are unable, though, to make contact with anyone on MR-1, so they guide the rocket by remote control to a safe Nevada landing. Only two survivors of the original four-person crew are found in the ship: Dr. Iris Ryan and Col. Tom O'Bannion, whose entire right arm is covered with a strange green alien growth. The MR-1's mission to Mars is then recounted by Dr. Ryan as she also helps to find a cure for Col. O'Bannion's badly infected arm. In her debriefing, she reports in detail the crew's experiences while traveling to the Red Planet and exploring its surface. She describes their expedition in retrospect, as if it were currently happening. Back to me:

1776 (1972)

From Wiki- 1776 is a 1972 American historical musical comedy drama film directed by Peter H. Hunt and written by Peter Stone, based on his book for the 1969 Broadway musical of the same name, with music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards.[4] Set in Philadelphia in the summer of 1776, it is a fictionalized account of the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The film stars William Daniels, Howard da Silva, Donald Madden, John Cullum, Ken Howard and Blythe Danner. John Adams, representing Massachusetts in the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, laments the body's refusal to debate his motion to declare the colonies' independence from Great Britain and instead to discuss more trivial matters. Disliked by most of his fellow Congressmen, he frequently seeks advice and comfort from his wife, Abigail. Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania suggests someone else propose the independence resolution. They get Richard Henry Lee of Virginia to agree and he rides home to get authorization from the state legislature to do so.  Me again:

Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger

From Wiki- Five young warriors from an ancient civilization of dinosaur-evolved humans (恐竜人類, Kyōryū Jinrui) are awakened during the present day after 170 million years of suspended animation when their sworn enemy, Bandora the Witch, is inadvertently released from her magical container on Planet Nemesis by two astronauts. The five warriors, the Zyurangers, must summon the power of mechanical-looking deities known as Guardian Beasts, each modeled after a different prehistoric beast, in order to protect mankind from Bandora's evil forces. A sixth warrior, Burai the Dragon Ranger, later becomes involved with the conflict between the Zyurangers and Bandora's forces.  Now back to me!

HOTW- Devilman

From Wiki- One of the Demon Tribe's strongest warriors, Devilman is sent to lead a full-scale invasion of the human world by Zennon.
