Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is probably my favorite of the movies.  it's funny, endearing, has a message and features the entire cast in some great scenes.  the effects are well done.  man I miss actual miniatures (including the whales, of all things).  the opening title card is also pure class.
mostly I just want to have some cool images to show, but there's too many of them from the movie so this is what you get.

our heroes figure out it's whales pretty quickly, but that's OK overall.  more problematic is Chekov leaving all his Starfleet material on the original Enterprise!  that seems like it will mean a lot of trouble in the future.
Spock communicates with the whales.  really cool scene, and set up so well.  and all the out of place "colorful metaphors" are so funny.  "They are not the hell your whales." some people just shouldn't swear.
I wonder if the United Planets ever got in contact with this alien life force.  one of the great mysteries of Trek!  the ending is perfect, as well.
