They had to do this on purpose.  there's no way.   usually II try to be above such shenanigans, but this one was too funny to let go.
this is a capture from FIVE ELEMENT NINJA, quite possibly the best ninja movie ever made.  she's trying to seduce one of the heroes (Lo Mang) and he has rebuffed her.  why on Earth would anyone say "vertical" flute?  yeah, the subtitling crew had to do that on purpose.
