Robot MOTW- Creeper robot

 

Dr. Zorka invents an eight foot slave robot to do his evil bidding.  It roams through 12 chapters of The Phantom Creeps way back in 1939.  It hulks about doing the bad doctor's bidding, until it gets destroyed.  Dr. Zorka also does not fare well, but that is par for the course in serials.

It sure is an impressive looking creation.  It is very iconic.  The serial also was the first to use the crawling scroll for the introductions.
