We interrupt "Calvin and the Quest for the Propeller Beanie" for a Sunday full color strip. I doubt Calvin took Hobbes lesson here to heart, at least not at age six. What would Hobbes do with this money anyway? Tigers don't pay for things! It was probably so Hobbes could have one over on Calvin, more than the monetary value of the coin.
The Sunday strip had not yet become the more expressive style that Watterson turned it into, but it sure was fun. I miss the comic strip. It has been fun to see Calvin sneak into various other strips in the past few years. I am very glad Bill kept control over Calvin and Hobbes as well. As much as I would love a movie, it is better off probably wanting rather than having.
