this was a bit of unexpected news- an R1 set of the second (or third, I suppose, depending on how you count them) Ultra series. here, I'll rephrase that: the second series to feature an Ultra from M78. there, it's more factual now. I know in a year I'll wonder why I even bothered.
anyway, this is considered by many to be the pinnacle of Ultra series. it's really good. it appears there will be no English dub on this set and for a change, that doesn't bother me at all.
the original English dub from Hawai'i is not good. it's pretty true to the scripts, but it's not well acted. when we as fans heard about this version, we all thought it was going to be the same people that dubbed the original Ultraman, and would be just as good. well, having seen two episodes, it's not nearly that good. and the Cinar dub, while well acted is not true to the series at all. Ultra Seven could use a little more humor, sure, but it should be funny, one would hope.
the Cinar dub was clever on occasion, but mostly it was not quite what it could have been. and it was serious on a few episodes. this set doesn't appear to have episode 12, so keep that disc of the Cinar dub if you have it.
anyway, there's a bit of conflict between fans about the actual set. you can order it at Amazon here, for it's December 11th release.

Hopefully it's not an act from the unidentified saboteurs... FROM SPACE!
