Sven- Shadow of the Cat

 

From Wiki- The story is about Tabitha, the house cat of a wealthy lady, who witnesses the murder of her owner by her owner's husband and two servants. The cat becomes bent on revenge while the murderers try to kill her, the only witness.  There is a bit of a love story, but the cat manages to kill the killers dead, and save the one person who then sells the house.  Apparently Tabitha did not want to go abroad, and stays at the house with the new family.This was pretty good.  The cat is the star, and Bunkie did a great job.  The cast is quite good as well.  It is well shot and directed.  The house is properly gothic, and  appears very claustrophobic.  Which is an accomplishment, since the house is huge.  It is nice to see the cat win.  I can't imagine leaving a cat behind, but she seems to have a bond with the cat.

With a few touches, this could have been a dark comedy, since the cat outsmarts the family every time they try to kill it.  Think Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.
