let's just start off with what an awesome cover provided by Gil Kane.
"To Conquer a Colossus!"
Writer: Roy Thomas
Artist: Don Heck
Letterer: Artie Simek
the story picks up right from where we left off, and pretty much is one battle after another. this issue moves right along, which is a good thing, and there's a fair amount of characterization along with the action.
Hawkeye gets Ixar to monologue, revealing it's origin among the stars, and why it is on planet Earth. nothing too surprising here, and themes that would be revisited later by Roy.
Goliath frees himself, since Wanda didn't know about his newly found shrinking abilities, so when Ixar drained her knowledge, neither did he. after freeing the Avengers the battle is on, and Ixar becomes a giant robot. this doesn't work, and finally the Black Widow threatens to kill Ixar if he doesn't leave Earth.
since she's not an Avenger, she can do this, but since Hawkeye wants her to be an Avenger this could be problematic later on. the whole Avengers don't kill thing... well, that's nice, but really? this only makes sense in comic book land.
in looking for pictures of the cover, I found this right cool blog, which goes even further into depth on "Marvel Triple Action" in an hilarious way.
