Cyclops (Scott Summers) is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is a founding member of the X-Men. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in the comic book The X-Men. Cyclops is a member of a subspecies of humans known as mutants, who are born with superhuman abilities. Cyclops emits powerful beams of energy from his eyes, and can only control the beams with the aid of special eyewear which he must wear at all times. He is typically considered the first of the X-Men,[1] a team of mutant heroes who fight for peace and equality between mutants and humans, and one of the team's primary leaders.[2][3]
Scott has always been my first favorite X-Man. I love Nightcrawler as well, and enjoyed the rest of them, but Scott was the leader. He was responsible and a bit on the morose side, but he did have a sense of humor, and he loved Jean. Sure, everyone loved Jean, even the Professor (whoa) but Jean loved him. I did not like how Wolverine tried to take Jean from him, and then became so popular (thanks Byrne) and everyone thought Scott was a stick in the mud.
I would be his friend, optic beams or not.
