Sven- Duel 1971

 

Dave Mann cuts off an 18 wheeler truck.  The driver takes this far too personally, and chases him around southern California until Dave figures out how to get the truck to fall over a cliff.  Now he has no car, no way to communicate to anyone and is miles away from civilization.

This is essentially an 85 minute car chase movie.  The original television movie was 74 minutes, and I think that would have worked better.  I know it is highly regarded, and is well directed and well acted, but I found it tedious.  Sven did his best, but I didn't watch most of it.

Next week- business picks up with WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS.  I wonder if this will be the US version of Toho's version?
