not the lame TV show from the 90s, this is one of the funniest skits on SNL ever. and best Star Trek themed one ever. there are so many golden moments here. this is one skit that just easily wrote itself, I would imagine. still, several of the cast had to be fans of the show, as they knew a lot of trivia.
it's weird to hear Shatner say the tv series was "20 years ago". there would have been about 4 or 5 movies, and the Next Gen was just starting. Wesley Crusher had only saved the Enterprise about 10 times, I'd reckon. warp factor 9 for fun!
