           What a way to end the series, on a sci-fi note.  Sorta!  More episodes should have broken away from the standard Green Hornet formula.

                Here are three great episodes, and really, the show is hitting its stride now.  We get more Kato beating the stuffing out of baddies is always a good thing!

474. Green Hornet 12-14: Deadlines, Secrets and DEATH!

           The episodes are getting their pattern down, especially the stand-alone ones.  This is a good and bad thing at times.

467. Green Hornet eps 09, 10, and 11! Bruce Lee rules!

            This set of episode reviews contains one of the best shows, since it highlights Kato, at least as much as 60s telly would allow.

The Preying Mantis!

The producers finally figured out they should showcase Bruce Lee and his amazing charisma, not to mention his martial arts skills.  This is, sadly, the only episode about Kato, sorta, and had there been a second season, I think we would have seen more.

               Here we have a great two episodes, and had they been a little more adventurous in the writing, could have made a cool story arc.

The Hornet Drone!

 

From the first episode filmed for the Green Hornet we get to see a lot of the gadgets in action.  They are not labeled like Batman's were, though.  It was called the scanner, and is remote controlled by the controls in the Black Beauty.  It moves like a drone, can fly and has tele-video capabilities.  This lets Kato follow the drone while the phone follows whatever its target is.  I am not sure how often it was used, but it is a a very cool gadget.

HOTW- The Green Hornet

From Wiki- Though various incarnations sometimes change details, in most versions the Green Hornet is the alter ego of Britt Reid (/riːd/), the wealthy young publisher of the Daily Sentinel newspaper. By night, clad in a long green overcoat, gloves, green fedora hat and green mask, Reid fights crime as the mysterious vigilante known as "The Green Hornet". He is accompanied by his loyal and similarly masked partner and confidant, Kato, who drives their technologically advanced car, the "Black Beauty". Though both the police and the general public believe the Hornet to be a wanted criminal, Reid uses that perception to help him infiltrate the underworld, leaving behind for the police the criminals and any incriminating evidence he has found.  In the original radio incarnation, Britt Reid is the son of Dan Reid Jr., the nephew of the Lone Ranger (whose first name is never given, contrary to later articles), making the Green Hornet the great-nephew of the Ranger. The relationship is alluded to at least once in the radio shows, when Dan Reid visits his son to question him on why Britt has never captured the Hornet. On learning the truth behind his son's dual identity, Dan Reid recalls his days riding with his uncle, as the William Tell Overture plays briefly and softly in the background.  Back to me:

Xenorama #29

The last issue I posted on here was #23, about two years ago.  This is the newest issue, which is live on Amazon now, along with all the issues from #15 on, plus the Marine Boy book, version #2 (and that's a spoiler- there will be a version 3 in the near future, as soon as I put the final touches on it). I know I should have published more about the other issues recently, but life does happen, and I have found I much prefer the physical books than reading online.

The Green Hornet

Boy I went through quite a serial phase back in the old Xenorama board days.  Kinda miss that place a bit, but save for a few, message boards have died out (no real surprise, since everyone and their brother had one for a while.  Still, it's kind of fun to go back there and see what I was watching six or more years ago.  Kind of like a time machine, if you will.  I post there occasionally so someone thinks people stop by, but I can't recall the last time anyone posted anything new.   Here's the link to the serial.  All the chapters are reviewed there, along with commentary from me and others.
