Triceratops tattoo
This is my most recent tattoo. I got it on Thursday, October 12, 2023. It was done by Sage (picked in part because Emerald's middle name is Sage) at the then ID Underground Tattoo in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She did a great job. At first we had talked about a skull, but I am very pleased with this. The colors are great and it fits in well with the other two tattoos there. The Triceratops horridus is the state dinosaur of Wyoming, so thought that was very fitting. I kind of want to get state dinosaur/fossils from every state I visit now. That probably won't happen, since many states have neither, or their fossils are fish. So those won't have a place on me, I'll tell you what.

Blue Beetle #22
One of the greatest things about FaceBook is being able to meet and interact with various professionals you may never have met otherwise. I'm friends with Will Muegniot who did the artwork for Mavel Chillers #3, Tigra's first four color story, the splash page I have tattooed on my right arm now. I was kind of afraid to show it to him at first, but he liked it. Never in a million years would I have ever thought he'd see it, unless it was at Comic Con some year. To top it off, he's a great guy as well as a great artist, and has worked on so many cartoons it's not funny. The stories he's told about the projects that could have been are fascinating. It's been a real pleasure to get to know him.

good bye 2012
but this year... well, I've had better. had worse, but definitely had better. I'm going to concentrate on the positive in this post, since I believe that's just a better choice. besides, no one wants to read about me complaining for three paragraphs.
I did become a connoisseur of good beers and fine whiskeys. can't complain about that.

"Ink Master" Heather Sinn
I didn't watch all of this show. I much prefer the whys, hows and wherefores of people getting tattooed, rather than a competition. Heather is the artist who has done the most work on me. I'd still be getting ink from her but she's moved into her own shop a bit further north. I'm sure I'll have her work on me again sometime.

tattoos
I'm working on a piece about why I have tattoos. this showed up on my feed earlier today, and it says almost everything I want to say in two sentences.
of course, I wouldn't be much of a blogger if I could let things go that quickly, so I'll still be writing my piece.

not quite Megaloman
remember this here post? this is what it inspired me to do. not exactly the same, but I love this color scheme. closer to Zone Fighter than an Ultra, but I can kind of claim this one as my own now. I did have a hero I invented called "Megaman" back in the 70s, but he was all purple. I think I have a drawing somewhere in my collection.

derby tattoo
in roller derby. long time readers (well, ones that have been with me two years or so) remember this post where I talked about my first roller derby bout. in it you can see I mention "L.A. Ink" and the clip that I saw about roller derby.
for the life of me, I thought it was an LA Derby Doll that came in for the tattoo, but it's not, it's a Rose City Roller, Domesticated Violence, from way up in Oregon. so perhaps I just figured she was from much closer to LA.
so here's the clip. that's who you can blame now, Kat von D.

Yasushi Torisawa
I am posting this so I have an easily remembered place for the artist's name, as I really like his giant monster, dai kaiju, if you will, paintings.
here we have King Shisa, and had this been a more action packed pose, I might have him on my leg instead of Gorosaurus. heck, I may still get him tattooed on me somewhere.
Torisawa-san doesn't seem to have a website of his own, these are paintings he did for Uchusen Magazine in the summer of 2008. I think there are some more of his pieces out there, but I have yet to find them again.
