                     I am not surprised the Shaws tried to create a new one-armed swordsman, and this is a good attempt.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: The New One-Armed Swordsman is a 1971 Hong Kong wuxia film directed by Chang Cheh and produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio, starring David Chiang. Chiang replaced Jimmy Wang, the star of the two preceding films in the series, The One-Armed Swordsman and Return of the One-Armed Swordsman. More from me now:  This is a fun movie, if not quite as epic as the original. The fights are a bit better, since the movies were headed that way.  It is mostly swords, with one exception!

553. Return to the 36th Chamber... if you dare!

                This is a rather underrated sequel, overshadowed by the the first movie.  Sure, it isn't that great, but it is very enjoyable.

From Wiki- Return to the 36th Chamber (少林搭棚大師, Shao Lin ta peng hsiao tzu, Return of the Master Killer or Master Killer II) is a 1980 Shaw Brothers Studio Hong Kong martial arts comedy film starring Gordon Liu. It was directed by Lau Kar-leung and written by Ni Kuang. The film is the second in a loosely connected trilogy, following The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978) and preceding Disciples of the 36th Chamber (1985). In the first and third films in the series, Liu portrays the Shaolin monk San Te, but in Return, he portrays an imposter monk.^[1]  I reviewed this some 15 years ago here.  I have watched it a time or two since then and still enjoy it. Some movie trailers are better than the actual movie.  This is one of them.  GoodTimes had the trailer on one of their compilations, and it looks like a kung fu Charlie's Angels.  It sort of is, but alas, it is also far sleazier than the show.
