Kiss - 2,000 Man (Live On MTV Unplugged) 1995

It is hard to believe this was almost 31 one years ago.  I love these live performances of songs you rarely hear.

Another song about groupies.  I mean, in one aspect, it isn't, but really, it's a rock star saying "I'm leaving, see you next time I am in town."

KISS - Talk To Me RIP Ace Frehley

Ace Frehley passed away today, due to a fall a few weeks ago.  He was the first lead guitarist I ever learned about, and he will always been one of my favorites.

KISS - Destroyer Anniversary

From Wiki- Destroyer is the fourth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss, released on March 15, 1976, by Casablanca Records in the US. It was the third successive Kiss album to reach the top 40 in the US, as well as the first to chart in Germany and New Zealand. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on April 22, 1976, and platinum on November 11 of the same year, the first Kiss album to achieve platinum.[2] The album marked a departure from the raw sound of the band's first three albums. Happy Birthday to Gene Simmons!

From Wiki- Gene Simmons (born Chaim Witz; Hebrew: חיים ויץ [χaˈim ˈvits]; born August 25, 1949) is an American musician. Also known by his stage persona "The Demon", he was the bassist and co-lead singer of the hard rock band Kiss, which he co-founded with Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in the early 1970s until their retirement in 2023. Simmons was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 as a member of Kiss.  Back to me:

Peter Criss '78

Way back in 1978 the four original members of KISS did something unprecedented- they released four solo LPs at once.  There were a lot of behind the scenes issues going on in the band that caused this, and it might have been a mistake to ship a million copies of each LP out at once.  I got all of them, eventually, though not all at once.  This was the first one I bought.  Peter was my favorite back then, and this is the most non-KISS LP of the bunch.  I am not the biggest hard rock fan.  KISS was never completely hard rock or metal, but they have their moments.  So Peter's songs appealed to me. I liked Gene's LP quite a bit as well, since it was so odd overall.  Ace's was cool, and Paul's was the most KISS out of the batch.

Happy Birthday, Ace Frehley!

Ace was born in 1951 on this date.  To say he was a guitar influence on me is rather pointless, as regular readers can easily tell.  I have come to appreciate his guitar playing even more, since his solos fit the songs.  They are not just pointless noodlings or scales over and over.  I am glad he is still writing and rocking.  I hope he has a great day and a great next year on this, his adopted planet!
