Happy Gotcha Day, Kaida!

She has been with us now for five years, which is hard to believe.  She still loves watching her squirrels!

Happy 6th Birthday, Kaida Trillian!

This lovable little goofball turns six today, and like all the other cats in my life, she is unique.  I also love her very much.

Hexja Jao (so far)

This is her adoption picture, I cannot get a clear one of her at the moment.  She is getting ready to get out and about.

Meeting the new kitty

Kaida wasn't impressed here, but let us know how she felt about this new little sister a bit later.  It always takes time.

Happy 5th Birthday, Kaida!

My crazy, goofy little girl starts her next voyage around the sun today.  She's been with us for almost four years, and has so much personality.  I wasn't sure she would even like me when I brought her home.  It didn't take her long to come out of her shell, and she even plays with Emerald.  Sometimes they do have a frank exchange of ideas, but most of the time they get along well.  She hasn't even been a destroyer for quite a while.  We do appreciate that.

371. Advent Calendar part One: Cats and Dinosaurs!

Oh yeah, this is part one.  The second part will be out in in a few days.  The cats are not nearly as impressed with the dinosaurs as I am!

Kaida's fourth year with us

Sleepy girl Kaida Trillian was brought home three years ago.  Well, on the 7th of May, that is.  She was such a tiny girl then, and wasn't sure about the new house.  That has changed quite a bit in the last three years.  She believes she runs the house, though Emerald doesn't seem to agree with her.  I sure love her, though.  I have never had a cat quite like her, I'll tell you what.  She loves to be held and carried about.  Emi does not like being held.

Happy Birthday Kaida Trillian!

Kaida, the polydactyl princess, turns four years old today.  She has been with us now for almost three years.  She is the most unique tortoiseshell cat I have ever had.  She is smaller than Dacya was, and far more active than I would have thought.  She also loves to be picked up and held, which no other cat I have ever had has enjoyed.  Watching her play and race around brings me great joy.  She likes to watch the squirrels in the backyard and any birds that show up.

Happy Solstice!

Kaida and Xenorama wish all readers a happy Solstice today!  She is shown here hiding under the Yule tree.  I think she was actually just supervising me while I was working, but one just never knows with cats, do they?  She is much better at hiding when she is not trying, as when she thinks she is invisible her tail is always visible.

Kaida's gotcha day

Two years ago Kaida Trillian entered my life.  She was so tiny back then, a whopping 7,2 pounds.  She hid under or behind anything she could, I thought she might never get comfortable in the house or around me.  I also was not sure how Emerald would react to her.  Fortunately, Kaida got comfortable pretty quickly and was out of the guest room in about three months.  I left the door open so Emi could visit and get used to the newcomer.

Kaida the Shredder

Kaida the Destroyer has become the Shredder as well.  There is a cat tree right behind this poor chair, and the little stinker loves to sharpen her claws on the chair.  And with thirteen front claws she can really tear into it.  She's been here for almost two years and the chair is toast.  I really did need a new one, so I'm not that unhappy.  She is really cute, which is why she gets away with such shenanigans.  I also think she knows just how cute she really is.

Happy Birthday, Kaida Trillian

She turns two years old today.  She is still a small girl, a hair over  eight and a half pounds.  She seems to weigh more when she is sitting on your chest at 3 AM.  It is easier when she lays down and starts purring.  I got her last May, and she has really started being happy about being here.  She and Emerald chase each other a lot, especially at night.  They do sleep near each other as well, which I am happy about.  The middle name does come from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, but it is because she is very vocal and part of that is a trill.  She also sounds a bit like a tribble on occasion.

ha! Kaida the Destroyer

Yesterday, while doing whatever it was I was doing in the office, probably writing the next issue of Xenorama, I heard a crash.  Then saw a bit of black lightning zoom into the office,  I got up and looked into the living room, and there was a mess.  This is after I picked up all the pictures and everything Kaida, the polydactyl princess had knocked onto the floor.  There had been a runner on that divider, though it ended up on the floor with nine pictures (out of a possible twelve) and several candles as well as one potted plant.  That is the dirt that is on the ground.
