The Ultimate Guide to Martial Arts Movies of the 1970s

OK, I have finally had time to read a reasonable amount of entries in this book.  it's pretty amazing, and a lot of hard work went into it.  Dr. Craig D. Reid has done an amazing amount of research for this tome and it's a labor of love.

he's a pretty amazing guy as well, all things said.  and he's a resident San Diegan, so that's cool as well.  perhaps I could visit him sometime and talk movies and kung fu.

there's so much information in here that out of necessity some movies get left out.  of course, there's a million martial arts movies from the 1970s that there is no way he could review all of them.  I almost wish he had only reviewed kung fu movies, or Chinese ones, instead of films from all over the world.

I'm ready for the martial arts movies of the 1980s now as well, though I bet that would be even harder to get all the reviews in.  perhaps a complete filmography of the Shaw Brothers kung fu opuses.  that would be right up my alley!

anyway, there are a few quibbles I have with the book- the word "martialogy" was something I had a hard time wrapping my head around, and some of the movies I would have liked to have seen reviewed are not in here.  overall, it's an amazing book.
