I'm not excited by the new Star Wars movie today. Being burned by four movies and a TV special, I have no desire to see it, nor do I have any reason to give JJ Abrams any money at all. But I do love Star Wars and really enjoy Empire, so don't get me wrong about that. And this song is one of my favorites, which proves more prescient than ever now...
It's funny that when it was originally written and played on the much missed Dr. Demento show that Ray Davies didn't give Al permission for years to use the music. Perhaps he thought his song about a sweet transvestite was too important to parody. At least he relented eventually.
