I Fantastici Tre Supermen (1967)

From Wiki- The Three Fantastic Supermen was conceived during the period of a superhero film cycle during the mid-1960s in Italy.[2] Howard Hughes described The Three Fantastic Supermen as being patterned after the film Superargo and the Faceless Giants.[3] The director Gianfranco Parolini had worked in several genres including sword-and-sandal films where there are more than one hero helping each other achieve their goals. [2] He also commented on the stunts in the film, noting that they were done on set with actor Aldo Canti having to jump out of 20 feet high window, jump into a trampoline and jump into a truck which was moving at full speed.[4 Back to me:

This is such a fun movie, I wish the print had been better!

Villain of the Week- Marvel's Loki

From Wiki-  A version of Loki made his first Marvel Comics appearance in Timely Comics' publication Venus #6 (August 1949),[7] where Loki is depicted as a member of the Olympian gods. Planning to spread hate, he convinces Jupiter to let him travel to the realm of Earth, using Venus already being allowed onto it as his justification. Venus pledges herself to Loki's service to stop his plans, with Jupiter seeing her unselfish act and freeing her from the pledge, with Loki subsequently being sent back to the Underworld. The modern-age Loki made his first official Marvel appearance in Journey into Mystery #85 (Oct. 1962), where Loki is reintroduced as Thor's sworn enemy. The modern age Loki was introduced by brothers and co-writers Stan Lee and Larry Lieber and was redesigned by Jack Kirby.

As one of Thor's arch-nemeses, Loki has frequently made appearances in Thor-related titles like Journey into Mystery and Thor, as well as other Marvel Universe titles such as The Avengers and X-Men, and brief appearances in the Spider-Man and The Defenders comic series. now back to me:

787. The Man Who Hated Laughter vs. The Phantom! 1972

Melbourne Ska Orchestra - Get Smart

This sure is a lot of fun, and makes me realize how much I enjoy ska music.

Xenorama is now digital!

Since I re-started Xenorama, the option for digital versions of the zine were there.  I did do it for the 15th issue, but there were formatting issues so I never did it again.  However, I got some feedback about having more issues available that way, so I went back to see how it might work.  Turns out, it is so much easier to do now, and the formatting looks about the same.  I have made a few changes here and there, but there are now three whole issues up for digital download, with more to come in the near future.  I'll be starting with issue #42 here (well, #25 is up there as well) since those are shorter issues, and I don't wanna re-edit the 100+ page issues again.  Still, it will be some thirty issues or so, and they should all be in color!

786. Speed Racer 27-30!

There's a new interstitial in this episode, and lots of fun!

Golden... Ninja? vert der ferk

Yes, that is the Golden Bat, or Ogon Bat, if you prefer.  Nowhere in this movie is he referred to as a "ninja" of any kind.  Nor does he use ninjitsu weapons either.

784. Iron Monkey (1993) review pt. 2

Here's the finale of this glorious superhero martial arts movie!

The White Snake Enchantress

From Wiki- The White Snake Enchantress (Japanese: 白蛇伝, Hepburn: Hakujaden; lit.'Legend of the White Serpent') is a Japanese animated fantasy film. It is the first color anime feature film and Toei Animation's first theatrical feature film, released in 1958. It was one of the first three anime films to be released in America, under the title Panda and the Magic Serpent, premiering in 1961, a month after Magic Boy.[1] It is an adaptation of the Chinese tale Legend of the White Snake and is also known as The Great White Snake and The Tale of the White Serpent. In April 2019, a restored version of the film was selected to be shown in the Cannes Classics section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.[2]  Back to me:

Adventures into the Unknown! #13

I sure would have bought this right off the stand, had I seen it and been alive to see it.  It was published in August of 1950, so there was no chance of finding it on a spinner rack.  However, I would have been disappointed.  Lots of semi-horror stories and sci-fi stuff, but not a dinosaur attacking a city at all.  There is an octopus style alien which seems to have a happy ending for all, so that would have been fun.  I would have wondered why there was no dinosaur story, but now I know the cover was to catch the eyes of young readers (like me),

781. The Wonderful Dinosaur Egg (book review)!

The first ever dinosaur book I had read to me... it might have been a bit influential.

VOTW- Stegron!

From Wiki- Vincent Stegron is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who worked with Curt Connors to study DNA of dinosaurs from the Savage Land. Inspired by the experiment that turned Connors into the Lizard, Stegron steals dinosaur DNA and injects himself with it, transforming into a Stegosaurus-like creature. Stegron gains the ability to command real dinosaurs, and he plans to use them in his plans for conquest of the world and converting all of humanity into creatures like himself. Taking several dinosaurs with him from the Savage Land to New York City, he encounters Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Ka-Zar.[3] In the ensuing battle, Stegron is knocked into a nearby river and seemingly drowns.[4]

780. Climbing to the land of Lost Continent (1951) review!

I do like this movie a lot, though it could use a bit of judicious editing.  Still a fun sci-fi adventure movie.

778. Avoid the gaze of The Gorgon (1964 review)!

This is a very interesting, if not quite engaging Hammer movie.  I had never seen it before at all.

La Marseillaise-Casablanca

This is one of the greatest scenes in a great movie full of great scenes.  It is powerful, and even has a bit of comedy in it.

774. Reviewing Blue Devil Annual #1 (Nov 1985)!

This is so much fun, but yeah, you do have to know about the characters to really enjoy it.

VOTW- The Cheetah

From DC Continuity Project- The original Cheetah appeared in Wonder Woman #6 back in 1943.  Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston (along with his co-creators Elizabeth Marston & Olive Byrne) used the villains they created for Wonder Woman for very specific purposes.  This original Cheetah, Priscilla Rich, was invented as a vain, spoiled debutante driven insane with jealousy.  She didn't have any powers at all; instead she was shown wearing a catsuit.  This idea was revisited decades later in Alex Ross's 2005 series Justice, which depicted Priscilla Rich a wearing the actual skin of a cheetah after having engaged in a ritual to assume it's power.

This visual of a human woman wearing a catsuit to fight Wonder Woman was used for another character in 1980; Deborah Domaine was a friend of Diana and the niece of Priscilla Rich who was brainwashed by Kobra to become their agent against Wonder Woman.
  Back to me:

773. Ultraman Zoffy (1984) Ultras vs an Army of Monsters!

He is accompanied by pilot Lieutenant Danny Wilson, aircraft mechanic Sergeant William Tatlow and the three scientists who built the rocket. Back to me:

770. The Brave Archer Ends! 1977

Yep, it is part 2 of The Brave Archer.  I am on the fence about reviewing more of this series.
