The World of the Dead (1970)

This features Santo with an extended cameo by Blue Demon.  It is weird, and definitely a product of the time. From IMdB- This time Santo and Blue Demon must take on a 300 year-old witch with a really bad attitude. She raises a legion of zombies and sends them to fight Santo in his home and in the rings. Talk about a rude interruption to a wrestling match .  This reviewer left out the Inquisition, though nobody expects that, ever. And burnings, and torture, and who is the good guy, really?

847. The Wild Warriors Two of 1978 review!

This is an excellent movie.  I wish Sammo had made one about Choy Li Fut!

The Marvels (2023)

Had I known that there would be many Flerkens in The Marvels, I sure would have watched it in the theater.  That should have been the main pitch.

I did watch the movie recently, and cannot believe it has been that long since I have seen a MCU movie.  I quite liked it, overall.  Sure, there were the dropped plot points here and there, but seeing the characters again was like greeting old friends.  So I now have several newer movies to catch up on.  Which I am finally looking forward to!  Three years is a long time to go without seeing a superhero movie.  And I never once thought I would say that.

846. Disney's rather redundant Robin Hood review!

I really liked this movie the first time I saw it, way back in 1973.

Villain of the Week- The Iguana

From Villains Wiki- Curt Connors created an Enervator to help remove the Lizard condition that was in his system and tested it on an Iguana. Unfortunately the Iguana became mutated and turned into a creature with the memories of the Lizard. The Iguana then fought Spider-Man and the Lizard until both he and the Lizard fought Spider-Man together.

843. The Incredible Invasion of the Nefarious Neptune Men!

The movie works pretty well overall, though some slight editing could have enhanced its undeserved reputation.

Villain of the Week- The Trickster

From Wiki-  The original Trickster (real name Giovanni Giuseppe) is the practical joker and con man whose favorite occupation is damaging enemies like the Flash with items such as explosive teddy bears.  His alter ego is "James Jesse". He was a circus acrobat who decided to become a criminal just like his "reverse namesake" Jesse James.[3] He created shoes that allowed him to walk on air to first help him in the trapeze shows his family was in, as every member of his family was a trapeze expert and his father wanted him to be one also, and other dangerous gag gadgets for his crimes. He clashed with the Flash (Barry Allen) many times. In his first appearance, his Harlequin costume causes the Flash to guess he is in a circus, and he captures the Trickster after pogo-sticking to the trapeze.

After Barry Allen's death, the Trickster relocated from Central City to Hollywood, where he spent some time working in special effects. He attempted to steal Dan Cassidy's innovative Blue Devil suit, but was defeated. When Cassidy later became trapped in the suit, Jesse befriended him and relied on Cassidy to help with his sporadic efforts to give up supervillainy.  Back to me:

Green Lantern: First Flight (2009)

This was released two years before the ever so frustrating 2011 movie, and is much better, though falls into the same problem the movie did-

833 The Sensational Sister Street Fighter of 1974!

The first of "four" movies starring Etsuko Shihomi, it is quite good and action-packed.

I have watched this a few times, but now I don't remember if I saw this on TMC first, or got a VHS copy of it.

832. Re-visiting The Land Before Time from 1988!

Well, I still want to like this more than I do, but even in 1988 it was not for my demographic.

An American Werewolf in London (1981) Trailer

A grisly new take (in 1981) on a classic genre, there is a lot to like about this movie.

831. Ultraman Mebius 29, 30, and Hikari!

A bit of a departure here- only two episodes of Mebius, and then the Hikari sidestory.

An American Werewolf in London (1981)

From Wiki-  An American Werewolf in London is a 1981 supernatural comedy horror film written and directed by John Landis. An international co-production of the United Kingdom and the United States, the film stars David Naughton, Jenny Agutter, Griffin Dunne and John Woodvine. The title is a cross between An American in Paris and Werewolf of London.[5] The film's plot follows two American backpackers, David Kessler and Jack Goodman, who are attacked by a werewolf while travelling in England, causing David to become a werewolf under the next full moon.[6]

Landis wrote the first draft of the screenplay for the film in 1969 and shelved it for over a decade. Prospective financiers believed that Landis' script was too frightening to be a comedy film and too humorous to be a horror film. After achieving success in Hollywood with the comedies The Kentucky Fried Movie, National Lampoon's Animal House and The Blues Brothers, Landis was able to secure financing from PolyGram Pictures to produce An American Werewolf in London. Back to me:

830. Dinosaur! from 1985 is super!

Villain of the Week- Shinigami Sensei, AKA Dr. Death!

From the Villains Wiki- Dr. Shinigami is a leading scientist of Shocker serving as one of their high commanders and a major antagonist in the Japanese TV series Kamen Rider. He has extensive knowledge of both science and mysticism, which he uses to aid Shocker in their campaign for world domination. Through his cybernetic modifications, Shinigami has the power to transform into the squid kaijin Ikadevil.

Summoned from Switzerland, Dr. Shinigami took command of Shocker's Japanese branch after Kamen Rider 2 destroyed Colonel Zol. He is mostly seen in his cape, holding a wand. His initial scheme involved detonating a volcanic area in Japan to spread chaos throughout the region. He tasked the kaijin Snowman to carry out the attack, but the monster was destroyed by the Double Riders.

He is able to transform into Ikadevil, a squid monster. In episode 68, he kidnapped Tobei Tachibana and forced him to train him so he can destroy Kamen Rider 1. As a result, Tobei discovers his weak spot: Ikadevil's head! When Kamen Rider 1 came to challenge him, Dr. Shinigami discards his cape and becomes Ikadevil to deal with Ichigo once and for all. Kamen Rider 1 overpowers Ikadevil by giving a Rider Chop on his head, and finishing him off with Tailspin Shoot. He is briefly brought back to life for a Destron operation, thinking he was to replace Doktor G, along with the other Shocker and Gel-Shocker officers. He along with the other resurrected officers is killed when the Destron base they are in self-destructs. Back to me:

829. How AIP Makes a Monster (movie, 1958)!

Here is a semi-sequel that actually has a thoughtful plot behind it, even if the malefactors don't see things properly.
