980. The honest Hercules in the Haunted World review!
This is a movie that is pretty highly regarded in fan circles, mostly because Mario Bava directed it.

979. The magical Muppet Treasure Island review!
This was not the easiest movie to review right now, but damn, I am glad to have been alive at the same time as Tim Curry.
It is a really great movie, too!

Muppet Treasure Island (1996) Theatrical Trailer
Yes, I know, I am very late to the boat (hah!) here. Like thirty years.
978. The savage Superman 09-12 review!
Man, Superman was different in the early 50s. Still closer to those very early days when he would not suffer villains at all!

RIP Tim Curry
This is another sad one, though also not surprising. Tim was so great in all his roles. He will be missed.
977. The scenic Sentai 05 review!
I do think this was a valiant attempt to present Japanese genre shows and movies in a great light.

Villain of the Week- Franklin M. Hart Jr
From Wiki- Franklin M. Hart Jr., a Vice President
of Consolidated Companies who is the boss of Judy, Violet, Roz, and
Doralee. Despite being married, he is not shy about flirting or sexually
harassing other women, especially Doralee, and refers to the
secretaries on his floor as his "girls". He also steals an idea from
Violet and tries to embezzle from Consolidated.
976. The silly Shaggy Dog (1959) review!
I forgot to schedule this last night. Fun movie, overall.

RIP Dolly Parton
Did I listen to her music all the time? No. However, I do enjoy her as a person, and hope her family is doing well at this time.
Your Generation - Generation X (Marc Bolan show)
Generation X had some very clunky songs when they started, but this sounds a bit smoother. I like it, and even the clunky bits, it is very punk.
975. The keen King Kong Show review finale!
I do wish the show would have been put out in a complete set. I have small hope that might happen now.

974. The regal Raven (1963) review!
One of my favorite movies from AIP and Roger Corman! It is fun and funny!

The Shaggy Dog (1959)
The film was released on March 19, 1959, and grossed over $9 million during its initial release, making it the second-highest-grossing film of 1959. Its success led to a franchise of further films, beginning with the 1976 sequel The Shaggy D.A.. Back to me:
973. The initial Iron-Fisted Monk review!
Someone let me know why... no, never mind. Watch the episode for the actual question!

ever have one of those bat-days?
I have said this before, and I will say it again, but I believe that they wrote the whole movie around this line.
972. An actual 8 Song Friday!
Our final episode about great cartoon theme songs from the 60s is here!

Four more solid episodes of this fun show. They are in a formula now, but hopefully they will forget about gangsters soon.

Villain of the Week- Warlock
From Wiki- Episode 3 introduces Warlock, who is said to be the "Master of Martian
Magic," although his Martian origins seem to be more of a contrivance
added to the English dub; whatever Warlock's origin, he is established
as a student of some kind of magical school who runs away to Earth after
being punished for getting drunk on prune juice. The last major team
member is a magician named AjiBaba of Abbadon, from the desert of the
eastern hemisphere who debuts in episode 4 as an arch-enemy of Warlock,
who attacked his country. Many of the episodes involve battles with
Warlock until episode 30, when Krag from the planet Kragmire banishes
(throws) Warlock into the depths of space and becomes Prince Planet's
major nemesis until the end of the series. Warlock finally returns in
the second-to-last episode of the series.
970. The stylish Sentai issues 03-04 review!
I sure wish this magazine had gone on for several years. Alas, the timing was a bit off, and the internet didn't help.

969. The ionic Invisible Boy (1957) review!
Here we have a minor classic, mostly due to what it portends in the future we now live in.

The Psychedelic Furs - Heartbreak Beat
This is probably my favorite P Furs (as we called them back in the day) song. Sure, it is a bit overproduced, but those lyrics...
968. The clever Kong Kong Show 03 review!
Seven more segments of this fun 60s show. Lots of Dr. Who in these episodes!

Calvin and Hobbes Monday 03-12-1986
This is the first time we see Calvin and Hobbes interact with the toaster. They figured it out later on, though.
Gaoraneger vs Super Sentai 2001
I cannot believe it has been 25 years since this fabulous movie was released.

The Invisible Boy 1957
From Wiki- The Invisible Boy, a.k.a. S.O.S Spaceship, is a 1957 black-and-white American science fiction film from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, produced by Nicholas Nayfack, directed by Herman Hoffman, and starring Richard Eyer and Philip Abbott. It is the second film appearance of Robby the Robot, who memorably appeared the previous year in MGM's Forbidden Planet. Back to me:
966. The surreal Stranger and the Gunfighter review!
This is another crossover from the Shaws, trying to get more of their generally excellent product into the wide world.

The Crater Lake Monster
This movie had potential, then it got ruined by interference.
The title is great, and so is the Plesiosaurus. The rest...

964. The active Adventures of Superman 01-04 review!
This first season is quite good, mostly because they are still finding their way. Once the formula sets in, well...

The Stranger and the Gunfighter (1974) TRAILER
I have not watched this movie in over a decade, so I barely remember anything about it.
963. The stunned Sentai issues 01-02 review!
This is a fun zine that should have lasted longer than it did. Many factors were in play, I am sure.

VOTW- Bandora the Witch
From Ranger Wiki- 170 million years ago, Bandora was originally the Queen of the Dahl Tribe, but tragedy struck when her son Kai
smashed some Tyrannosaurus eggs. In retaliation, the dinosaur chased
Kai until he fell off a cliff, causing his death. Swearing revenge
against all dinosaurs for taking her son away from her, Bandora sold her
soul to Dai-Satan for great magical powers, but in doing so lost all memory of Kai. With her newfound power, Bandora waged war on the other tribes and the
dinosaurs they worshipped. Although she almost drove the dinosaurs into
extinction, she was stopped by the Guardian Beasts. As punishment for her crimes, Bandora and her followers Grifforzer, Totpat, Bookback, and Pleprechaun were exiled on the planet Nemesis,
sealed away in an enchanted urn. In the event that Bandora may one day
get free, the five tribes selected their greatest warriors to enter a
state of suspended animation. These warriors included: Yamato Tribe Prince Geki, Sharma Tribe Knight Goushi, Etoffe Tribe Knight Dan, Dime Tribe Knight Boi, and Lithia Tribe Princess Mei. Their tombs were left in the care of Mysterious Sage Barza. Back to me:
The Jesus And Mary Chain - Happy When It Rains
Once again, I am very late to the party for discovering this band. I don't remember hearing them here in Fossil Bed.
It was about three years ago I heard them on the radio. They are great!
962. The leery Legend of Dinosaurs review!
Not a single dinosaur or monster bird exists in this movie.

961. The keen King Kong Show review 02!
In which X7 reviews seven more King Kong segments from the 1966 King Kong Show! We meet Kong's archenemy, Dr. Who! The international Judas himself!

960. The modest Man-Made Monster review!
This was not an easy review, since the movie is quite good, but it lacks something to make it even better.

Prehistoric New Zealand
What is it with artists picking on my beloved plesiosaurs? While I am sure this scene did play out in real life at times, I am also sure it did not happen all the time. Much like T. rex vs Triceratops, it would have been very rare. Plus, we have no proof mosasaurs hunted together. I suppose it is an exciting scene to paint, though.
959. The epic Enter the Fat Dragon review!
This is the first time I have watched this movie, and gods dang it, these are great fights!

"Superman on Earth"
Season One Episode One of The Adventures of Superman is an origin story. It isn't quite as concise as the first issue of Action Comics was, but manages to get it all done in 25 minutes.
958. The smashing 7 Song Friday 08-07-2026 part 01!
Here we start a three part series about the best cartoon theme songs of the 1960s!

957. The glam Ghost Busters finale review!
I sure wish a second season had been made. Dang that Captain Marvel! Your loss, Filmation!

Enter the Fat Dragon 1978
I think I have seen this movie once before, but I am not sure. This is a comedy, but Sammo isn't nearly as goofy as Jackie could be in his movies. The plot is slight, Bruce Lee worshipping country boy goes to Hong Kong to work for his uncle. He runs afoul of gangs and fights break out constantly. Somehow, Ah Lung trained hard and became well versed in martial arts. I got this confused with 1980's Skinny Tiger Fatty Dragon, then realized I had not seen this one before.
956. The jaunty Josie and the Pussycats comic book review!
Yeah, I can't add or count, apparently.

955. The suave Superior 8 Ultra Brothers review!
Another Mebius movie, another ending that looks like the same ending as the previous movie.
Tuesday, August 4, 2026
Another song about groupies. I mean, in one aspect, it isn't, but really, it's a rock star saying "I'm leaving, see you next time I am in town."
954 The King Kong show
I wish the whole series was available, alas, we will get a truncated series review for a few weeks.
Monday, August 3, 2026
953. The clear Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter review!
Here's an interesting Hammer movie that appears to have never been released in the US.

A Catwoman (number two, really)
The opening credits to the 1966 Batman movie are quite interesting, and very stylish. I kinda think they were Bond influenced.
952. The wild When Tae Kwon Do Strikes review!
There should be a comedy meter for martial arts movies.

951 The super Spy Quest review!
This is a Tom and Jerry movie with the Quest Team as co-stars. It is pretty funny overall.
