Seven Steps of Kung Fu (1979)

As any long time readers of this blog know, I'm a bit snooty about my kung fu movies.  Part of of that is my love of the Shaw Brothers product and part of that is being a long time practioner of martial arts.

I'm not a fan of wire fu or cg enhanced fight scenes at all, just seems like overkill in most movies these days.  And a lot of the low budget kung fu movies just don't have the magic that the Shaws movies of that time period do.
I'm sure there's plenty of reasons for that (directors, actors, etc).  The fights are usually still pretty good.  Anyway, here's a movie that I wasn't expecting much out of and it's pretty darn good.  A general plots to take over a village with the help of The Five Hand Gang.  Little Tiger and his master are in their way.
You'd think that any people seeing a white haired kung fu master would know he's evil.  It's in every dang movie they show up in.  And they are always so good at their style it can take anywhere from 2-4 fighters to defeat them.
This movie is action packed.  It's only 84 minutes long so it never gets bogged down in plot (especially plot) or too much fighting.  It's definitely worth a rental or look.
