Sven- The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)

From Wiki- The Incredible Shrinking Man is a 1957 American science fiction film directed by Jack Arnold, based on Richard Matheson's 1956 novel, The Shrinking Man. The film stars Grant Williams as Scott and Randy Stuart as Scott's wife, Louise. While relaxing on a boat, Scott is enveloped by a strange fog. Months later, he discovers that he appears to be shrinking. By the time Scott has reached the height of a small boy, his condition becomes known to the public. When he learns there is no cure for his condition, he lashes out at his wife. As Scott shrinks to the point where he can fit into a dollhouse, he has a battle with his family cat, leaving him lost and alone in his basement, where he is now smaller than the average insect. Back to me:  He fights a spider, and finally shrinks down to sub-atomic size and wanders off to find his place in the universe.

Kimba-casts

I saw a lot of Kimba when I was in West Virgina (WDCA Channel 20, greatest channel ever).  I have written about the show here, and had been doing episode reviews about 12 years ago.  Since I started the podcast, the Kimba episode overview I did has been the most popular one.   Speed Racer is right behind Kimba as well.  They have more than six times the combined listens than the third place episode.  That makes me think I should talk more about Kimba.  Well, it is only logical.  However, I do not want to do an episode by episode sort of thing, since that would take a year.

HOTW- Atoma

From Gamespot-  Atoma is a superherione who's only appearance was in issue 15 of the Joe Palooka comic.  In the issue, junior chemist Dusty Rhodes, from Anytown, USA, is teleported to the future when he mixing chemicals in his basement. Joe looks around to find the hero Atoma, who tells Dusty he accidentally discovered the time element is in the year 2446, and he is now in the year 2446. Atoma then puts Dusty on her back, and shows him the future Anytown. As they are observing, they are then attacked by a giant robot, who Dusty defeats with a slingshot. They meet Arton, another flying person. He was presented at least as a future rival to Atoma. The last quote from Atoma is "It's not fair Dusty!! Though you may think this is a perfect place it is from it. Some of us just live like slaves and the governor is no better than your Hitler was. There's lots we must do, be must tell about it another time!"

50 years of Land of the Lost!

Land of the Lost premiered on September 7th, 1974.  To paraphrase a Beatles song: "It was fifty years ago today, Land of the Lost began to play!"  While Grumpy didn't sing the song, we all sang along with Wesley.  I will admit, I did miss the first episode for some reason.  It was scheduled opposite Valley of the Dinosaurs and I think we were bouncing around all the new shows.  That is my best guess after fiddy years.  I think I was at a friend's house, since New Cartoon Saturday was an event back in the day.  The worst part- aside from 17 new Scooby Doo clone shows, was trying to decide which show to watch for the first time.

255 Movie Monsters #3 1975

Happy Birthday, Raquel Welch

From Wiki-  Jo Raquel Welch (née Tejada; September 5, 1940 – February 15, 2023) was an American actress.  Raquel Welch first gained attention for her role in Fantastic Voyage (1966), after which she signed a long-term contract with 20th Century Fox. They lent her contract to the British studio Hammer Film Productions, for whom she made One Million Years B.C. (1966). Although Welch had only three lines of dialogue in the film, images of her in the doe-skin bikini became bestselling posters that turned her into an international sex symbol. She later starred in Bedazzled (1967), Bandolero! (1968), 100 Rifles (1969), Myra Breckinridge (1970), Hannie Caulder (1971), Kansas City Bomber (1972), The Last of Sheila (1973), The Three Musketeers (1973), The Wild Party (1975), and Mother, Jugs & Speed (1976). She made several television variety specials.

HOTW- Red Tornado (Ma Hunkel)

From Wiki- In the original comics in the 1940s, Ma Hunkel is a working mother whose costume consists of longjohns and a cooking pot on her head. She adopts the identity of the Red Tornado to fight local criminals in her New York City neighborhood, inspired by her son's admiration for the superhero Green Lantern. The character's popularity was such that she was given a cameo in the first adventure of the Justice Society of America, visiting the JSA's headquarters but being forced by a humorous mishap, her pants splitting, to leave without having the chance to apply for membership. Later Justice Society stories have declared Ma to be an honorary member of the team.  Me again (until the last paragraph):
