This is a fun movie, overall, but some judicious changes could have made it a classic.

I think I have watched this movie once.  I am 96.5% sure of it.  I do not remember much about it though.

Xenorama #34 Rider Punch!

 

The newest issue of Xenorama is being readied for publication (i.e. it's under review) and is a load of Kamen Rider goodness!  It covers the first five series, then several more after that.  The various movies that have been produced from other countries are also in here.  It's taken over two years to finish, but dang, it's a lot of episodes to watch.  In previous years it was a lot easier to watch these shows, but now it takes a lot longer.  Dang jobs always getting in the way!  Still, I am happy to have this one done.  I think the Super Sentai issue will be the next one up, which should wrap up the year.  I am pretty happy with the cover, though perhaps a class on how to use photoshop is in order now.  Maybe next year.

Thor and the Amazon Women (1963)

apparently May is Peplum" month now.  not something I was planning on, but I've got at least two or three more to review and they've been fun to watch, even the less sword and sorcery ones.  which isn't a bad thing, overall.  I remember when the existence of several of these movies was questionable, like SAMSON AND THE SLAVE QUEEN (yes, it's on the list).  thanks to cheapo PD DVD sets, many of them are easily seen.

I'm kind of surprised to learn Sinister Cinema is still in business, due to a lot of their movies being in the public domain.

Amazon Rider vs Sea Anemone

my favorite Rider, and the bloodiest! all subtitled for your viewing pleasure! here he takes on a weird and wonderful kaijin from Gedon. we also get a nice long version of the end theme song, and it's a musical treat as well. the opening and end credits are included in this nice little clip.

Riders Stronger, X, Amazon vs Delzer Army

three of the coolest Kamen Riders battle Delzer army officers. this is a really cool battle scene, and a great way to start off the new year, with the defeat of evil! Stronger and Amazon are two of my favorite Riders, and I like X quite a bit as well. this is a really great scene, which shows off some nifty fight choreography, which proves you don't have to have wires or CG to be exciting.

I watched the rest of All Riders vs Dai Shocker last night, and overall, I really liked it.  even thought it could be a bit longer, which is rare for me to say about movies these days.

mostly I loved the end.  look at this stunt!  and look at all the superheroes there, ready to team up to fight the evil forces of Dai Shocker!  I'm just astounded they even thought they had a chance against this many heroes!

and they have every Kamen Rider who has had a movie or tv show to his name.  I mean, there's Kamen Rider Shin, for cat's sake.  he threw more punches and kicks in 4 minutes than in his entire movie.

I admit it, I love team ups, which usually work better in theory than ever on paper or other media (Superman vs Spider-man not withstanding).  I also love superhero teams, and this is one of the biggest teams you could have.  it's much better seeing them beat up various kaijin and henchmen than beating on each other.

one of my favorite parts was when Daiki and Natsumi go looking for the second tier Riders and they find two losers, Oja and someone from Blade, maybe, who want to join Dai Shocker.  we never get to see what happens to them, really, which is unfortunate, as it's always good to see Oja get a beating.

and just for my pal Iga Devil!  "ika + beer"... that made me laugh.
