this is a live performance from the awesome band, the Cramps. I arrived late to Cramps fandom, but it was this album "A Date With Elvis" that brought me to it. I still like their music, and all the other songs I've heard of theirs.

Sym-Bionic Titan

 three aliens crash land on Earth.  two are teenage humanoids and one is a robot with very unique powers.  they are from a planet that was under attack and her father sent her away to protect her.

Spectreman Stage Show 2000

recorded at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood in the summer of 2000, this is Damon Foster's presentation of a Superhero Stage show. Mike Keller and Madison Carter were my partners in crime for this- I was just the brainwashed thrall. I can hardly believe that was 12 years ago now.  this is a much cleaner copy than the one I had, probably first gen.  gotta love it.

Moon Zero Two (1969)

never saw this movie growing up, and I'm not sure I would have liked it very much if I had.  it's not an action packed sci-fi adventure, but it's a good movie.  it's billed as the Moon's first "western" and that title fits.  the cartoon opening is pretty cute and the effects are all well done.  the music is just what you'd expect from the time period, but it works for the film.

One Million Years B.C. trailer

since it's Ray Harryhausen's birthday today, I figured I'd post a trailer from my favorite movie of his- the most excellent One Million Years, BC (1966). everything about this movie works. I first saw it at about age five or six and it blew me away. probably had some other effects on me at the time, but then it was ALL about the dinosaurs.

When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth (1970)

bought this DVD a while ago- when it was still cheap in stores, actually, and have never watched it.  it's paired with Moon Zero Two, a movie I have never seen (watching it today) but have read the novelization (and remember nothing about it).   the DVD is now rare because of the slight nude scene in When Dinos... caused some kind of stir or something, and it went OOP pretty quickly.  

good luck finding it for less than $40!  the prices collectors will pay for such things.

Peanuts Mothra Song

many people have been posting the famous Mothra song from the wonderful movie of the same name today. this used to be a "lost" song, since it was trimmed from the US cut for time constraints. now of course you can see it on DVD uncut, so it's no longer lost, but it's not as famous as the other song.

RIP Emi Ito

Emi Ito passed away on June 15, 2012.  she was 71 years old.  best known to fans in the west as one half the the twin fairies that sang to Mothra (aka the Shobijin) she and her twin sister Yumi sang for many years and appeared in this country on the Ed Sullivan Show.

think I'll watch Mothra today.

Bruce vs Chuck

this is one of those dream match ups that happened before anyone ever realized what it was. Chuck really didn't make a name for himself in the movies after this, and it took several years after Bruce passed away that he started making his own movies. from "Return of the Dragon".

Our Man Flint (1966)

in response to the hugely popular James Bond movies, every studio wanted to make a spy film.  some of them are serious, some of them are not.  most of the Bond films weren't that serious either.  those are the best ones, anyway, realizing that the whole genre was rather silly to begin with (much like superhero movies).  and there are tons of them, both serious and silly (and many that tried to be one and ended up the other, though bad comedy is never good).

I did that whole month on spy movie trailers, and I bet the trailers were better than most of the actual movies.
