                     Another of Ray Harryhausen's classic movies gets reviewed here.  It has a couple flaws in it, though nothing that ruins the movie.

 This is a fun issue, and a complete time capsule of the era.  I mean, no Christopher Reeve as Superman!

703. Earth fights the Flying Saucers in 1956!

                 This is my least favorite black and white Harryhausen movie, but I did quite enjoy this viewing of it.  Go figure!

                  Yep, the movie is now 72 years old.  I'm not that much behind!

Technical Effects creator

 This was a credit Ray received a few times early in his career.  Someone else, one Willis Cook, got the credit for special effects in general. Harryhausen would talk about the differences he perceived between "special effects," "technical effects," and "optical effects" at times.  I think he eventually accepted the sobriquet of Special Effects Master later on, but since this was early in his career, he was probably happy to be working in his chosen field back then.

526. The Valley of Gwangi on National Dinosaur Day!

                 I love this movie unabashedly.  Go figure.  Had the coloring book by age four, and saw the movie some four years later.

           There was nothing like this book out in 1977, though similar tomes would appear shortly after that.  It had quite an impact on my life.
