My introduction to the Runaways was some network special that Joan Jett took part in. There might have been another Runaway in the mix, but I only remember Joan being there. It was something like the Battle of the Network Stars, but since she wasn't any kind of star at that point, I don't know.

here's Joan Jett's signature song (well, the one she wrote, anyway). this was made after "I Love Rock n Roll" was a hit. her backing band was studio musicians on the first album, as opposed to the Blackhearts in the video.
