The Second Best Secret Agent in the Whole Wide World (1965)

this movie has quite a history. I wonder how it did overall, with being reedited by this Joseph E. Levine guy... hmm, should I know that name? sounds familiar. he did some editing and hired Sammy Davis Jr to sing the title song. I'm not quite sure if it's a spoof or not. it was originally titled "Licensed to Kill".

anyway, this one is supposed to be one better than 007, or something like that. much like using the word "Zany" constantly comparing yourself to a better known version is usually the kiss of death. our hero is Charles Vine.

there are even two sequels out there.
