Xenorama #32

Here's the next cover! This is the biggest issue ever, at least in page count.  It's over two hundred pages and nicely illustrated by comics from my own collection.  Some of the covers show the wear and tear from over 50 years of age.  It features many of my favorite heroes and monster from that same range of time.  I included a few runs of the various books that flowed together, but usually I picked one story from whatever subject I was talking about.  The biggest problem I had was in limiting my selections to just a few stories, and saving some for the next time I want to write about comic books and comic book accessories.  Because I am almost sure that this will happen again.

Prehistoric Scenes

I had many of of these as a kid- enough to set them all together and run out of room on a large table.  But even for me there were too many to get.  Some I never cared if I got, like the cave people or most of the prehistoric mammals.  I mean, they are kind of neat, but I wanted dinosaurs and these really delivered them in spades.  And really, who cares about animals trapped in a tar pit?  Nothing much moved in that kit, I'll tell you what!  Add to that that most of them had some movable parts and were snap-togethers and these was made for me.

the first excellent version of the Marine Boy book cover

This is a prototype of the cover... how awesome does this look?  I am thoroughly impressed and amazed at it, it's that great.  It sure is eye catching, isn't it?  There's everything you could want on the cover.  The colors are just incredible.  I think the words a little bit too close together, but since this is a first draft, I'm sure the incredibly talented Dan Ross will make the final version completely astounding.

Dang! Just dang!  I keep staring at the cover.  Probably should not even say anything else.

Marine Boy book, again

been a while since there's been any Marine Boy talk in the blog, which is just sad, since that's what it started out as.  I am still working on it, but have no plans on the finish yet.  I have to decide on the format and learn a little more technical stuff.
I also am not sure about the cover.  I had a really nice one, but since I've moved more than once since then I am not sure exactly where it is any more. so I may need a new one.
I'd like it with this monster, Marine Boy,  Splasher and the P-1.  anyone have any more ideas about the cover?

the cover!

a great way to start the new year is the arrival of the cover of the book! very colorful and action-packed, with the main characters and a monster! that's pretty much the final physical component i needed, so now i really have to bear down and get this thing done.

and i will now. then there are some other books to work on, including a cookbook, of all things!

the cover

Mike has the cover started, and it will look pretty dynamic. i wanted something that caught the eye, but wasn't a carbon copy of a scene from one of the episodes, and i think he's done that really well.

by the way, the DVDs from 8thman.com are really nice! i can't recommend them highly enough.

happy Thanksgiving everyone!
