Four great episode here!  Even the flower one is pretty darn good, though it is #4 in this list.

From Ultraman Wiki- The princess of Nebula M78, Yullian never engaged in any type of combat until a tribe of mercenary-style aliens known as Alien Galagala and their leader King Galtan kidnapped her and planned to kill Ultraman 80. Yullian managed to escape to Earth where 80 was assigned to defend at the time. As UGM went to scout out the disturbance, they found the Galagala, who wanted Yullian as she was disguised as a human named Ryoko Hoshi. After 80, under the guise of Takeshi Yamoto, defeated the tribe, they killed UGM's only female member Emi Jono, causing UGM great rage. After 80 defeated the Galagala and their leader Galtan, Ryoko joined UGM. ^{The Female Warrior of Ultra} For a time there was no need for her to take action until the Minus Energy of the Earth created the monsters Plazma and Minazma. 80 was being beaten by the dual monsters Plazma and Minazma until Ryoko showed her true form.  With her help, 80 was able to defeat the two monsters. ^{80's Greatest Peril! Transform! Lady Ultraman} Both Ultras would soon return to their home world, after UGM defeated Margodon, ending the age of negativity and the Earth would be safe from monsters for twenty five years. ^{Ah! Ultraman 80 thoughts

Ultraman 80 was the show that everyone wanted to see- well, all Ultra fans.  Sure, The * Ultraman was pretty good, but it was a cartoon, and the Ultras are generally best in live action.  The last show, Ultraman Leo, was good, but had some issues, such as what I have called "The Random Kid of the Week" story, which was quite common in the last half of the 70s.  Some random kid would have a problem that only the hero could help with... even if there was a kid in the show as a regular already.  This happened in the first third or so of 80, especially while Takeshi was playing teacher.  After he joined the UGM full time, it got better.

I'm not exactly sure when they started showing this great series, but boy am I glad they did.  Ultraman 80 is one of my favorite Ultra series, and getting to watch it all with decent subtitles is going to be a lot of fun.  80 is full of some great monsters and great fighting action.  The effects are top notch and still hold up well today.  80 also has a nice design, getting back to basics rather than the ornate headgear that Taro and Leo had.

a nice compilation of clips. the monsters in Ultraman 80 were a definite upgrade in quality and looks from the latter 70s shows, and 80 himself was a great fighter, very athletic. it looks like actual martial arts were involved.
