Sven- Son of Dracula (1943)

 

He is not really the son of Dracula, this Count Alucard.  It is not really a sequel, since no mention of the last movie is made.  Drac, the Count, I mean, moves to the United States and begins his regular business.  He actually gets the girl in this movie, and right away.  I wonder what the wedding ceremony was like.  The end is odd, as there are no stakings present, just burning the coffins of the two vampires.  For a 78 minute movie, it sure is leisurely in getting to the vampire goings on.

Sven and I had the same thought, though- Chaney is the only actor that played the Wolfman, the Frankenstein monster, Dracula and the Mummy.  He also played Quasimodo in Route 66 in 1962.  He only missed out on the Invisible Man.  He's quite good, but it is hard to think of him as European in this movie.  The rest of the cast does a great job, there just isn't much to the material.
