Captain Marvel (2019)

none of these  3 Captain Marvels are Carol Danvers
I have known Carol Danvers most of my comic book fandom life.  I have seen her through her civilian days, meeting Marv-Ell when she worked with NASA to her working for JJJ and all the other drama that Marvel decided to put her through.  She's had more superhero names than most heroes, including Hank Pym.  I really never saw her assuming the Captain Marvel moniker, but it makes sense.  The MCU is lucky, since they don't have to deal with some 30-70 years of stories that repeat themselves ad nauseam because Marvel didn't want to deal with legacy heroes.  Even though events matter in Marvel Comic books.  That is until the next artistic team shows up.

The Blep

Today I said goodbye to my beloved 13 1/2 year old ginger cat, Thuvia Jane.  She had metastatic cancer in her lungs and I had to make that quality of life decision for her.  It's been a hard two weeks, but I know it was the right thing to do for her.  I am holding on to all the wonderful memories of her at this point.  She was with me for over 12 years, even longer than Dacya.  I know at some point Emerald will get a new friend, but it's gonna be a minute.  I know when it's time.

Thuvia Jane

Love your cats.  TJ is slightly over 13 years old now.  Due to my lapse of writing here for the past three years, I haven't mentioned my cats much. Dacya crossed the Rainbow  Bridge two years ago, and Emerald Sage, Emi for short, joined our family.  TJ is an unusual cat among cats, as she doesn't really want to share me with anyone else.  This includes people as well as other cats.  Oddly enough, she does tolerate boy cats.

Emerald Sage

Emerald Sage- the torbie cat in front of Thuvia Jane- entered our lives on 12-10-2018.  It took a little while, but the cats at least tolerate each other now.  She was born 12-04-2018 and will be five years old soon.  She's a very sweet and very vocal girl, and has her own individual personality.  She's not quite a tortie, so her tortitude is somewhat muted, but she does have a bit of sass to her when she needs it.

Pet sidekicks to superheroes

One of the fun things about comics from the 50s and 60s is that our heroes had pets that occasionally helped them out of various jams whilst fighting crime and villains.  I read more Krypto stories back then, so he's high on my list of favorites.  I saw a few stories about the Legion of Super Pets and I did know who Proty was, but I never read origin stories of Comet, Beppo or Streaky back in the day.  I do think my cat Thuvia is a relative of Streaky, though.

Thuvia Jane...

Came into my life six years ago, right around her birthday, which happens to be today.  She's still part kitten, despite being seven years old.  She was a year old when I got her.

Her name was Yoyo at the time, and the ladies at Rescue House were so glad I was going to rename her.  I didn't know exactly what her name would be, but she got named after two ERB heroines.

Happy Birthday Thuvia Jane

TJ's birthday is officially September 4th, 2007.  I adopted her around that time in 2008 at a local Petco.  She's my rescue cat, since one of her back legs had been broken by her former family's dog and they gave her up instead of fixing her.  I was there the Friday night when they were setting up and I was back there on Saturday morning to adopt her.

Interestingly enough, I met my first tattoo artist that day as well, since Laura Crow was buying dogfood for her (then puppy) at the time.

Sanda vs Gaira- first battle

you try to do something nice for a relative, and then they go and eat the tourists. thus begins the well deserved beat down of the Green Gargantua by the Brown Gargantua.

Thuvia Jane turns four years old today.  she's been part of my family now for a little over three years.  she still has the most energy of anyone in the house.  I love her.
