Aliens land in a small town and start collecting humans for sustenance. Two semi-teens see the ship (thinking it was a meteorite) and investigate. They find the remains of an old man and see the alien klowns. They bail, run to the cops who don't believe them. Meanwhile, the aliens go on a rampage of death, wrapping their new food sources in cotton candy. Eventually our heroes head find the ship, have a battle and manage to destroy the ship as it takes off. The five of them are alive, but most of the town was not.
For an 88 minute movie this sure seemed to last a lot longer. The movie is very much a 50s sci-fi movie. These are not teens, at least, but close enough. It is very colorful, at least, and not too gruesome. It also isn't that funny, but then, if you replaced the clown aliens with bug eyed monsters, or a blob, there wouldn't be too much humor in it. Some of it is funny, especially the boxing match with the gang, but overall it is just kind of meh. I now know why I have never wanted to sit through it. It isn't terrible, but we have seen it all before. Just without clowns.
I did enjoy all the effects. Damn, those were fun and well done. The Chiodo Brothers did them so of course they are good. For a low budget movie they did a great job.
Next- Duel, a movie I have seen once.
