House of Dracula 1945

Both Dracula and the Wolfman approach Dr. Edelmann to see if he can cure their respective curses of lycanthropism and vampirism.  One of these he is successful in doing.  Drac only seems to be sort of interested in it, but turns to his old evil ways before getting burnt to a crisp again.  Larry and the Doc find the monster and cart him up to the lab.  If only they would leave the poor creature alone.    Too bad they never learn, though if they did we would not have these movies to watch.

This is the final serious movie in the first cycle of Universal monster movies.  Most of this gang would team up with Bud and Lou in three years.  More on that movie in the near future.

John Carradine has improved as the Count, and Onslow Stevens as Dr. Franz Edelmann is great.  Drac infects him with his blood, and he slowly turns into a madman.  Had Universal been thinking of it, they could have added a Mr Hyde type of monster to the marquee.

No mention is made of how Drac is revived from the last movie, nor how Larry is alive.  At least in this film he is finally cured and can live happily ever after.  At least for three years.
