Regular sized wasps are sent into space via rocket ship. They are pelted by cosmic radiation and when the ship returns to Earth, they grow into giant monsters. The scientists responsible for this head to Africa to destroy the insects, but have to rely on a handy volcano to take care of the bugs. Those darn volcanoes sure do take care of many things that man can't, don't they?
This movie would be much better with 10 minutes or so taken out of it. It is padded. The effects are pretty nifty, and there's a giant snake vs wasp fight that is cool. Wasps are pretty interesting creatures, they might look scary, but they are pretty easy to get along with. Just don't piss them off!
