Superboy s.1 e 12

Kryptonite Kills: they sure didn't have a handle on the characters just yet.  I mean, in 12 episodes Clark has fallen in love with a gangster's daughter, kissed Lana and has a close other female friend in Smallville.  Lex still has hair and flunkies and Lana is, well, not as smart as Lana had become since John Byrne took over (I love Lana, and her knowing Clark was Superman was a great step for her).  This episode is the introduction of Green K, which spells troubles for everyone.  Only Professor John Peterson knows it hurts Superboy by the end of the episode.  Lex uses it for a power supply, which doesn't go the way he plans.

This first season is pretty enjoyable.  I watched some of the series for the four seasons it was aired, but really don't remember much about it overall.  In the first 16 episodes I have watched Superboy fights a lot of gangsters and evil "biz magnates" (one is played by Sonny Shroyer, "Enos" of the Dukes of Hazzard fame), and those stories are kind of meh.  It's tough to do real super powers on a budget, but really, it can be done.  Making Superboy less powerful than his adult version is a good idea.  I will probably get at least one more season set and see how it goes with the new Superboy.

The Green K here changes colors throughout the episode.  Sometimes it's green, sometimes it's blue, and a couple times it is clear.
